Beach and Wildlife Tour 7 days/ 6 nights

Beach lovers! this is the best you can get from a action packed beach holiday. Covering some of Sri Lanka’s best beaches including Negombo & Hikkaduwa you’ll be amazed at the beautiful sunset. Watch blue whales swim in waters in Mirissa. Enjoy a candlelit dinner by the side of the beach with your loved one. Packed into this tiny island is an abundance of natural wildlife starting from the famous Asian Elephant to the elusive leopard. The country has nine national parks and seven bird sanctuaries.

Day 1: Negombo 

Begin your Sri Lanka tour by being met on arrival at Colombo International Airport with private transfer to your hotel in Negombo Beach. Negombo was used by the Portuguese, Dutch and British as main export harbor for cinnamon and is conveniently located only 15 km from the airport.

Enjoy a cold drink as you watch the old world fishing crafts like the outrigger canoes and the catamarans haul their catch.  Take a stroll along the Indian Ocean and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Hikkaduwa  

In the early 1960’s Hikkaduwa started its change from a small fishing village into one of Sri Lanka’s international holiday destination.  Wide white sand beaches, colorful coral reefs and excellent surf continue to attract people from all over the world.

Day 3: Bundala National Park Safari
This small coastal sanctuary is ideal to bask in quiet solitude. Watch huge crocodiles along the brackish marshes, take a dip in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, and see large flocks of water birds and migrants.  This park is paradise for birders!

Day 4-5: Yala Camping Safari 
Wake before dawn to embark on one of the highlights of any trip to Sri Lanka- -a safari in Yala National Park.  Yala is well recognized as one of the best parks in the world to observe and photograph leopards.  There is also a substantial elephant population along with Spotted deer, Sambar, Wild buffalo, Sloth bear, Jackal, Mongoose, Pangolins and Crocodiles. In addition, there are over 120 species of bird found in the park.   Fully catered camping on the beach in the wilds of Kirinda, just on the park borders.

Day 6: Mirissa
Lounge on the sand in this sleepy beach town or perhaps bicycle to a nearby fishing village.  Enjoy candlelit al fresco dining on the beach at one of the many quaint restaurants.

The deep southern waters off Mirissa is quickly becoming famous for sighting blue and sperm whales.  The boat departs in the morning hours for a once in a lifetime chance to see these enchanting creatures.*

*the best time of year for whale watching is December-April.  

Day 7: Negombo

Enjoy the drive along the coast back to the airport in Negombo.  Stop for lunch in Hikkaduwa or at one of the many laid back beach towns that dot the route.
